Hover-flies - a Young Hover-fly

 

Wow - it's a girl! Now its wings are unfolded, and the body of the fly has slimmed. Also, the ovipositor has extended - this fly is a  female.

With her ovipositor she is going to lay eggs under the bark of trees - close to an ant colony.
