How Flies Do it: Kissing

 

They touch several times within a short time. Now doubt:  Kissing is a part of the mating of Platystoma seminationis

In this picture, you can easily recognize why these flies are called "big mouths": the diameter of their proboscis is quite large, nearly as big as the diameter of the head of the fly. 

With pauses, the phase of kissing may repeat, while the couple remains in its position, while the female continues to dance in circles.
